Towards the nascent side of the South coast, we will stop at some coastal sights, before arriving at Lagoa das Furnas, for a short hike along the shores of the lake. Furnas are known for their volcanic activity with their fumaroles and naturally heated pools at 39 degrees celcius, that you can visit and experience, having two options, one more affordable and another a little more expensive, but with a dazzling botanical garden with plants and trees from five continents.
Before lunch, you can see how the famous Furnas stew is cooked, with an average duration of 6 hours of cooking, about 1 meter underground, with only volcanic vapors. Next, you will get to know Ribeira Quente on the South coast and its natural waterfalls on the road that gives access to the fishing civil parish. The return to Ponta Delgada, will be made by the interior of the island, towards the North coast with several stops in very interesting places, including one of the tea factories.
